This week at Mintaka Reiki in Sandbach, one of my regular clients had a MASSIVE breakthrough – and I can’t tell you how happy it made me! Because she finally handed over control.
Let me explain.
It’s my job as a Reiki Therapist to help people release whatever it is that they’re holding on to that’s causing their life to be out of balance. We do that by realigning their “energy”.
But before I get to work on energy balancing, every time someone comes for a gentle Reiki Treatment in The Cabin, we always talk about how they’d like the healing energy to help them.
And Reiki literally can literally help with anything – stress, anxiety, physical pain, illness – you name it, Reiki can help heal it.
So, at the start of each Reiki Treatment, we set our intent for the session and we ask for whatever it is that my client needs help with. But then we always add that whatever healing they receive should be for their greatest and highest good.
You see sometimes, what we think we WANT, is not always what we actually NEED when it comes to our greatest and highest good.
And that’s where the control aspect comes in.
Because by trusting in Reiki, we have to hand over control to the universe to deliver to us exactly what we need at this time.
And if you don’t hand over control, things can get tricky.
I think most of us are under the illusion that we’re in “control” of our lives – but we’re really not.
Despite our planning, our dreams, and our hopes, everything can change in an instant. Strangers become soul-mates, dreams come true, and accidents happen…and sometimes your world can simply implode without any prior warning.
That’s why life is so much easier when we hand over control and just accept whatever it is that’s happening for us right now. Because that’s how life works – it doesn’t happen TO us, it happens FOR us, and it always happens for a reason.
Of course, it’s often only with the benefit of hindsight that we realise why something happened in the way that it did. But life always works itself out in the end, and it’s so much easier to get to that end point if we’re able to loosen our grip, to give up trying to control things.
I know, because I’ve done it myself – I clung on for years, with grim determination, to a particular desire, refusing to budge or consider alternatives.
You can read about that by clicking below:
It’s like standing with your face against a brick wall, and all you can see is the brick wall.
And that’s such a disheartening vista!
But when you finally get brave enough to loosen your grip – to relinquish control and just turn around – suddenly you find there’s a whole new world behind you that you’d just never seen before, because you were too busy looking at that brick wall.
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with having a dream – but the key is to not get so stubbornly attached to that dream that you’re blinded to everything else.
See that dream as being your “preference”, but by releasing control you allow room for the universe to perhaps deliver something even more magical, something you’d never even considered possible.
And that’s what I know will now happen for my client. And that really does make my heart sing.
I’ll keep you posted on progress!
Until next week.
Much love,
Denise
