This week, two new clients who came to The Cabin for a relaxing Reiki Treatment booked on the personal recommendation of their mutual friend, who had visited me the previous week.


I’m always so humbled by word-of-mouth recommendations like this. But what really made my heart sing was that the three friends all worked together in a health-care setting.


To me, caregivers are the un-sung heroes of our society. They dedicate their time and energy to nurturing others, making it the toughest job in the world.


So often though, in tending to the needs of those around us, we tend to forget the one person who deserves our care the most – ourselves. Which is why I was so delighted that these three friends were now carving out some time for themselves.
